Project Goal
As a foundational pillar of the Farm animal Genotype-Tissue Expression (FarmGTEx) project, PigEpiMap delivers the first comprehensive epigenomic atlas for pigs (Sus scrofa), bridging critical gaps in agricultural genomics and human genetics research. This resource systematically maps regulatory landscapes across 50 tissues and cell types – including underrepresented anatomical regions – to decode the non-coding genome's role in complex traits. By integrating 2,726 uniformly processed epigenomic profiles , chromatin architecture, and allele-specific regulatory variants, PigEpiMap empowers functional annotation of genetic loci driving economically vital traits in pigs while simultaneously advancing human disease research.
